The committee serves as the academic foundation of EPSOC. By engaging with economic theory, public policy, political thought, history, and contemporary issues, the committee produces research that shapes our events, publications, and conversations.

The committee that spearheads the ideation and execution of EPSOC’s events like youth parliaments, speaker sessions, panel discussions and anything else it deems appropriate. Further, it also gets to decide on the structure, tone and topics for all our events, alongside their smooth execution.

Hospitality and Outreach

The committee that is responsible for bringing in outside collaborators and sponsors to bankroll EPSOC’s events and activities. It also performs the duty of creating and maintaining a unique (brand) identity for EPSOC and helping ‘market’ our events and activities to reach appropriate audiences.

The committee that spearheads the creation, design and and tone of our digital existince, for which it exclusively maintains EPSOC’s socials and website. Further, it also leads the production, editing and direction of all of EPSOC’s recorded content.

The committee that is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all activities by arranging venues, sorting permissions and managing communication channels are this committee’s exclusive domains. It is also the focal point of contact between EPSOC and SAMSOE admin.

On Councils and Cooperation

EPSOC is a special form of organisation because it opts for the council approach for its functioning, in a plea to avoid the centralisation of power and uphold the labour of every agent involved in its activities.

There exists only a ‘loose’ hierarchy between councils, to an extent that the organisation remains cohesive and is capable of making final value judgements. We opt for the council approach mainly to instill a culture of personal responsibility, full accountability and genuine attachment to one’s work, that which is also rooted dimensionally in empathy, patience and camaraderie.
