Our ultimate vision is to establish Sarla Anil Modi School of Economics as a premier choice for students all over Mumbai City to share and discuss the intersection of philosophy, politics and economics.

We intend to achieve this by year-around speaker sessions, focus groups, parliamentary events and a dedicated magazine.

Our VISION

There is a certain propensity to shortsightedness, complacency and blind faith found in today’s society, which has naturally led to individualistic behaviour by economic agents, fragmenting any semblance of community and shared sense of responsibility.

By instilling in its members a fierce spirit of inquiry, EPSOC sets the stage for critical inquiry and experimentation, the power to move beyond theory, towards praxis, creating in the process driven intellectuals capable of imagining a better world.

About EPSOC

The Economics and Political Society can be envisioned as a polity, a union of spirited individuals, driven, not only by the notions of greatness and achievement, but also humility and relevance.

EPSOC is meant to serve as a conduit for the passions of the average ‘homo economicus’, as it were, wherein all members are encouraged to lend their wisdom and unique expertise to help create a self-sustaining process that perfects itself with each iteration.
